Schuler Wins Narrow Victory, Phillips Wide Margin in Bronson Election

By Terry Witt – Spotlight Senior Reporter

Unofficial results of the Bronson municipal election Tuesday showed Virginia Phillips defeated Mark Kjeseth 117-67 for Seat 2 and Franklin Schuler defeated Jordan Jabbar 81-76 and Julie Stalnaker with 35 for Seat 4.

The Schuler-Jabbar race wasn’t close enough to trigger a recount of the ballots, according to election officials.

The results of the election will be certified Friday when the Bronson Canvassing Board meets at the Dogan Cobb Center.

Election of Schuler, a businessman and former mayor of Bronson, means he will sit on the same board with his daughter, Sherrie Schuler, a Bronson Middle High School teacher and sports administrator.
Both will be voting members of the council.
