The Florida Department of Transportation has scheduled a public meeting tomorrow (Tuesday, March 22) to hear citizen input concerning a milling and resurfacing project on U.S. 19 that would, among other things, remove on-street parking in a portion of Chiefland to accommodate bike lanes.
The proposed changes include modifications to the intersection of U.S. 19 at NW 60th Ave., changes to the U.S. 19/NW 140th intersection along with the removal of on-street parking in Chiefland between 17th Ave. and U.S. 129 to accommodate bike lanes.
DOT officials say the meeting will take place between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 at the office of the DOT Maintenance Office off U.S. 27A on the outskirts of Chiefland. DOT says people can come and go during the meeting as their personal schedule allows.
The public can also view the meeting online at nflroads.com/VPH or by phone at (415) 930-5321 – access code 764-958-608.
