The Florida Department of Health has set up a COVID-19 antibody treatment center in Fanning Springs.

Monoclonal Antibody shots are available at the Suwannee River Fairgrounds at 17851 90th Ave. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays.

Health officials recommend getting the treatment within 10 days of testing positive.

The announcement of the new treatment center first appeared on WCJB TV 20.

Previously the closest Monoclonal Antibody treatment center was at the Fellowship Church outside High Springs. Many Levy County residents drove there for the lifesaving treatment.

Levy County Commissioners recently sent a letter to Governor Ron DeSantis asking if he could arrange to set up a Monoclonal Antibody treatment center closer to Levy County.

Fanning Springs stands at the intersection of Levy, Gilchrist, and Dixie counties, the most central spot in the tri-county area.

The Florida Department of Health has been giving free COVID-19 tests at the Suwannee River Fairgrounds.
