Today’s press release suggests a recent development, but the documented timeline tells a different story. The Levy County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) announced live streaming of its public meetings in a press release issued today.
A Documented Public Record
Live streaming of BOCC meetings was repeatedly requested in meetings and through public comment for years, well before 2026.
In 2025, Levy County held six budget workshops from March through September, all requiring in-person attendance. The public will now be able to see and hear how the budget is developed in real time.
The Documented Timeline (2022–2026)
- 2022: Publicly raised and reported on Spotlight
- 2024: Feasibility research on live streaming presented to the Board
- 2025: Reported again on Spotlight as the issue resurfaced
- 2026: Live streaming officially announced
All prior reporting remains archived on the Spotlight on Levy County Government website for public review.
The Records Speak
Spotlight’s documented timeline, archived on the Spotlight on Levy County Government website, shows this was repeatedly requested over multiple years. The implementation arrived in 2026.
