Board of County Commission Press Release
The Levy County Board of County Commission (BoCC) unanimously appointed Christopher Mills to the Planning Commission during their April 2, 2024 meeting.
Mr. Mills holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University. He moved to Florida in 1986, and to Levy County in 2011. Currently, Mr. Mills is semi-retired and serves as a business advisor and laborer for the family farming business based in Morriston, Florida.
Before being introduced to the agricultural lifestyle, Mr. Mills and his wife Jody owned and operated Architectural Metals, an aluminum fabrication and contracting company, for 27 years in Fort Myers, Florida. Prior to this business, Mr. Mills, who is a Florida Professional Engineer and a Licensed General Contractor, performed both engineering and contracting services in the southwest Florida area in his own practice. He also spent five years working for a statewide architectural firm, and four years working in the Facilitates Departments for both the Collier and Lee County Public Schools.
When introducing Mr. Mills to the BoCC, Commission Chair Desiree Mills announced that “I am not related to Christopher Mills by blood or by marriage, although I would be happy to claim him if I were. He is an outstanding man, a welcome addition to Levy County, and I think he will be a welcome addition to the Planning Commission.”
Mr. Mills will serve a two-year term that ends April 2026.
