Brian Gore and Matt Brooks have filed to run for the current Clerk of Court, Danny Shipp’s job. Shipp announced his retirement a few months ago. Brooks’ filing for Clerk of Court opens up his District 5 commission seat. As a rule, more people will throw their hat in the ring when there is a vacant seat and no incumbent to compete against. We need leaders who have our rural county’s best interest at heart, not their own self-serving policies, bloated budgets, and bad management practices.
Levy County Supervisor of Elections Tammy Jones’ website has everything you need to know about who is running for office, how to become a candidate, campaign finance search to know who is donating to what candidate, and much more.
