County Pays Tribute to Long-Serving Employees

            Employees of the Levy County Commission with many years of public service were honored with certificates at a recent board meeting.

            Chuck Cook with 35 years in the construction and maintenance department, Robert Jordan with 25 years in the road department, and Jose Thomas with 25 years in the road department have served the longest.

            This a new feature of the board and is intended to recognize its all-important workforce members for their significant contribution to the operation of county government.

            Each was given a certificate recognizing their years with Levy County government. Many started working with the county a decade or two before most of these board members were elected to office.

She was unable to attend when the other county employees were honored at a previous board meeting. She wanted to see her son awarded his second livestock championship at the Suwannee River Fair.
