Williston City Clerk Latricia Wright has received one of the highest employee ratings in the city’s history.
She scored a 4.5 out of a maximum of 5 points when her performance as the clerk was evaluated by the Williston City Council.
City Council President Debra Jones, the longest-serving member of the board said she can’t recall a higher score.
The 4.5 score vaults her over a 4 rating, which means she exceeded job standards but falls short of a perfect 5, which is consistently outstanding.
Her score also means she got a 4.5 percent pay raise of $2,380 annually retroactive to Oct. 1, 2022, when the evaluation should have been done but wasn’t for some reason.
The clerk’s annual salary increased from $52,287.82 to $55,287.82 with the raise.
The calculations of Wright’s council scores, pay increase, and retroactive compensation was provided in a neat packet to council members by the new Human Resources Director Krystal Patterson.
For Wright to score as high as she did, all council members had to get her a big score to bring her average up to 4.5.
There wasn’t much discussion among council members about the score when it was announced at the most recent council meeting.
A 4.5 score speaks for itself.
Wright provided the documents on her evaluation to Spotlight after receiving a public records request from the news media organization.
Her many duties include supervisor of elections for Williston, public records custodian, preparing council agendas, keeping council members informed of what’s going on in city government, writing the minutes for council meetings, spearheading festivals, and contacting vendors to serve the festivals.
It keeps her busy.
