First-Degree Murder Indictments Issued for Williston Men

By Terry Witt – Spotlight Senior Reporter

Two Williston men were indicted by the Levy County Spring Grand Jury Monday on charges of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Malik Jamar Hall on Feb. 5. Hall was from Williston.

Williston Police Department investigators identified Isaac Mitchell Williams, 20, and Kentavious Demarous Brown, 21, as the two men responsible for the murder.

The grand jury issued a true bill, indicting Brown and Williams on one count each of first-degree murder – premeditated.

“We ask the public’s patience as the case proceeds through the criminal justice system. An indictment is an allegation and all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law,” said Williston Police Chief Mike Rolls.

Hall was in his parked car at 1111 NE 11th Drive when he was shot dead with a .223, a high-powered rifle. Three of the 16 bullets fired at Hall hit him. One bullet struck him in the head.
