Chiefland City Commissioners honored two Student of the Month recipients at Monday’s board meeting with Mayor Chris Jones making the presentations.

            Joe Wilcox, a 7^th grader and son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilcox, was nominated by the 7th-grade teachers. Joe is a wonderful and kind student. He is polite, patient, and does the right thing.

            Michael Goodale, a 10^th grader at Chiefland High School, and son of Kathy Snow was nominated by the high school teachers.

            Michael Goodale continues to impress me with his work ethic and effort. He is taking a junior-level college course as a sophomore and continues to push himself to meet the standard. He takes initiative to succeed and is one of the first to run in every assignment because he wants to ensure he gets it done to the best of his ability.

            Student of the Month winners receive an Outstanding Student Certificate and a $20 Walmart coupon courtesy of the Chiefland Rotary Club.
