Williston Mayor Charles Goodman and the Williston City Council honored their Students of the Month at the council meeting on Nov. 8.
Corrie Stinson, a kindergarten student at Joyce Bullock Elementary School daughter of Dr. Angela and Scotty Stinson was nominated by Mrs. Edwards and Mrs. Nelson, teachers of Corrie. They said Corrie is five years old and diligent, kind, and inquisitive. She always comes to school with a positive attitude accompanied by a smile with such a willingness to help others. She is well-mannered, respectful, and driven to do her best, and sets a great example for other students. She is such a bright light and blessing to both her teachers and all those around her.
Jon Kopecky, a 7th grader at Williston Middle High School and son of Renee Kopecky, was nominated by teachers Gamble, Yancey, Watts, Geiger, and Kalishman. They made the following comments.
Jon is an awesome student. He works hard and is never afraid to ask questions.
Gamble/Art: Jon is a fantastic artist and very helpful in class. He is eager to learn. We are currently working on a constructive critique of his own and others’ work. Jon has a critical eye and keen wit.
Yancey/CT: Jon is very bright and a pleasure to have in class. He always follows directions and works hard on the task he is assigned. I think Jon would be a great representative of our school.
Watts: He is a great kid. He is so focused it can be annoying.
Geiger: (had him last year) He was truly a joy! He was focused and very organized. Jon was also great at completing his bellwort and always had insightful things to share.
Kalishman: Jon is very focused and always pushes his way to the front of the line to ask for help. He does excellent work.
