                   Five people qualified this week to run for the Williston City Council.

            Mayor Jerry Robinson will be opposed by former Councilman Charles Goodman and Daniel Stewart for the mayor’s seat.

            Councilwoman Darfeness Hinds will be opposed by Zach Bullock for Seat D on the council.

            Council President Debra Jones didn’t draw an opponent and was elected without opposition to Seat E.

            The city election is March 1.

            For those unfamiliar with Williston’s governing body, the mayor isn’t a voting member of the city council but oversees the police department and fire department.

            The five council members are voting members of the board.
