The Williston Municipal Election is just around the corner.
City officials have slated March 1 as Election Day.
Qualifying occurs from Jan. 10 to Jan. 14.
Seat E held by Council President Debra Jones, Seat D held by Councilwoman Darfeness Hinds, and Mayor Jerry Robinson’s seat are on the ballot.
The qualifying fee is $53 for council members and $65 for mayor.
Candidates must live within the city limits of Williston. They must be at least 18 years of age.

Levy County Supervisor of Elections will hold Candidate University on January 13, 2022. The class is for anyone interested in running for public office or just wanting to learn about the candidate process. Details regarding the class are listed below.

Candidate University consists of a three-hour curriculum focused on the fundamentals of becoming and being a candidate. Participants will be introduced to each step involved in the process including pre-filling, collecting petitions, and qualifying. Campaign pitfalls will also be discussed as well as audits, recounts, and contest of elections. All participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the program and there is no cost to attend.
