Williston City Council members recognized their Students of the Month Tuesday with Mayor Jerry Robinson making the presentations.
Jon Kopecky, a 2nd grader at Joyce Bullock Elementary School and son of Renee Kopecky was described by his teacher Meredith Stone as a student who gets up and comes to school and conquers every challenge she throws his way.
She said he has grown academically and socially. Jon is a hard worker. He has an excellent personality and loves to make people laugh. He is polite, friendly and a joy to have in class. The class recently took its final i-Ready diagnostic in reading. Jon took his time, read and reread passages and surpassed his goal by a landslide. “I am incredibly proud of Jon and all his accomplishments,” said Stone.
Addyson Kidd, a 5th grader at Williston Elementary School and daughter of Whitney Kasperski was nominated by 5th-grade teacher Michelle Ruiz, the safety patrol advisor. She described Addyson as a true role model student and an extremely hard worker who strives for perfection in all that she does. “As a student and safety patrol, she goes above and beyond the high expectations that have been set for her.
Our classroom community is better as a result of her willingness to help her classmates and teachers,” Ruiz said. “As a self-motivated student, Addyson has created some amazing goals for her future and it is clear she will work diligently to achieve them. She has been a joy to teach and I look forward to seeing all that she will accomplish!”
