A Bronson man has been arrested by the Levy County Sheriff’s Office for sexual misconduct involving a 12-year-old girl and is being held on a $4 million bond.

            Khalid E. Brown, 35, has been charged with committing several sexual acts with the child and is being held at the Levy County Detention Center on those charges.

            Sheriff’s detectives, working in cooperation with the Child Protection Team of the University of Florida, were able to establish Brown committed the sexual acts on the child.

            The sheriff’s office encourages parents and guardians to continue to make every effort to protect children from those who would harm them. Monitor their social media activity, their choice of friends, and their behavior.

            “Many times, early intervention can prevent a child from falling prey to those with bad intentions. We applaud the bravery of this child who can now rest somewhat easier knowing her abuser will be held responsible for his own actions,” the sheriff’s office said.
