Chiefland Trunk or Treat
The City of Chiefland will take part in a Trunk or Treat Event sponsored by First United Methodist Church Saturday, Oct. 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
City Manager Laura Cain said the city will allow door-to-door trick or treating that same evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Williston Fall Festival, Halloween Events
Events in Williston include the Cornerstone Church’s Annual Fall Family Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 1045 NE 6th Blvd. Amy Bell’s Barnyard Petting Zoo, Fantastic Fancy Face Painters, Family picture opportunities, a hayride, and corn toss are among the activities. Rollin’ Dough Pizza, Heavy B’s BBQ, Kona Ice, and Sad Donkey will be there.
Included in the fun will be inflatables, a 64-foot shark obstacle course, Double Lane Baja Blast Slide, and a Jump House.
Tiny Homes is sponsoring Halloween Party at the Park Friday at 6 p.m. at Homestead Park, 1050 NE 6th Blvd. Part of the fun will be a DJ, a costume contest, and other surprises.
Door-to-door Trick or treating in neighborhoods will take place Monday, Oct. 31. Most of the neighborhoods are ready for the children by 6 p.m. or so.
“I had 400-425 at my house last year, as did my neighbors,” said City Council President Debra Jones.
The city doesn’t declare Halloween to be on any particular night. Trick or treating will happen on Monday night.
Bronson Trunk or Treat
Bronson Trunk or Treat will happen Saturday at James H. Cobb Park sponsored by local churches with the city providing the park, according to Mayor Robert Partin.
Asked whether the city allows door-to-door trick or treating in neighborhoods, Partin responded, “I can’t stop trick or treating.” He said it would be the decision of parents whether to allow their children to trick or treat.
He said the city and churches provide Trunk or Treat at the park.
Cedar Key Trunk or Treat
The annual Trunk or Treat event on 2nd Street is set for Monday. Second Street runs past City Hall. There is no set time. When crowds begin to gather, the street will be closed off by city police up to Island Hotel.
The city doesn’t allow neighborhood trick-or-treating.
Inglis Trick or Treating
The Town of Inglis won’t sponsor an event, but door-to-door trick-or-treating will occur Monday.
Yankeetown Events
Yankeetown children will go door-to-door trick or treating on Riverside Drive Monday. The scenic street will be lighted. Many times, residents along Riverside Drive get as many as 300 children dropping by for candy.
The city’s Parks and Recreation Committee is also putting on a Trunk or Treat type of event Monday at the pavilion next to Town Hall.
