Student of Month Makes Effort to Thank Commissioners

By Terry Witt – Spotlight Senior Reporter

Chiefland City Commissioners Monday honored a Student of the Month who came dressed for success and pleasantly surprised the board.

Tyler Hill, son of Lynn Hill and a 10th grader at Chiefland Middle High School arrived in a suit and tie and politely accepted his achievement certificate and $20 Walmart gift certificate from Commissioner Rollin Hudson.

As the commission was ready to move on to other business, Tyler, the perfect gentleman, walked up to commissioners to shake hands with each board member to thank them for the award.

He put a smile on every board member’s face.

            The 10th-grade teachers nominated Tyler.

Here is what they had to say:

“Tyler is a great young man. He always strives to do his best, is friendly to everyone he meets, and truly has a positive outlook on life. He is kind, polite, and always dresses for success! We are very grateful to have Tyler, who is a representative of the true characteristics of a Chiefland Indian.”

The Walmart certificate is provided to Students of the Month courtesy of Chiefland Rotary Club.
