Chiefland City Commissioners honored their Students of the Month Monday with Commissioner Lance Hayes presenting certificates.
Landon Rac, son of Ms. Horten, was nominated by the 8th-grade teachers. Landon is a great student. He is in advanced classes for high school credit as an 8th grader. He works hard to get assignments done and turned in on time and he does them well. He is well-liked and respected by his peers. Landon is a student who teachers trust and depend on to be doing the right thing, and he does not disappoint. He keeps his priorities straight, and we are so proud to teach him at Chiefland Middle School!
Keri Melton, daughter of Tricia Au, was nominated by the 12th-grade teachers. The personal growth of Keri Melton has been displayed since last year and is almost palpable. She comes in every day with a positive attitude, a willingness to help, and never questions the random tasks given to her. Even as this is being typed, she’s trying to fix the pencil sharpener. In addition to her great attitude, she’s made plans for the future by enlisting in the U.S. Army with the intention of working in the armory. Keri seems hyper-focused on her goals and there’s no stopping her. It’s been awesome to stand by and watch her relentlessly push herself.
Students of the Month receive a $20 gift certificate compliments of the Chiefland Rotary Club.
